New Sanghavasa opening cancelled due to the lock down

Sanghavasa Hamilton vihara new Sanghavasa opening ceremony had to be cancelled until further notice.

We sincerely hope that you, your families and friends are all well and in good health during these difficult times. Our good wishes and heartfelt blessings for continuing good health and well-being are with you.

We realize that you must all be wondering how the construction work of the new temple complex in Holland Road is progressing. The monk's residence has received the Code of Compliance and the final inspection was scheduled on 26th March 2020. Unfortunately, the whole country went into lock down due to the Covid 19 pandemic on 25th March.

We had initially planned to have the opening ceremony of the Sanghavasa on Sunday 3rd May, and we were all looking forward to it. But of course, this has had to be cancelled due to the lock down. As a result of the ongoing uncertainty and precautions that need to be observed due to the pandemic, we are not able to give you specific dates or details about any future religious events or services we would like to conduct. Any such activities will obviously depend on the rules and regulations laid down by the government regarding the lock-down.

Finally, we wish to let you all know that we immensely value and and are very grateful for the donations, support and help we have received for the purchase, construction and development of the Sanghavasa. We are aware that you are willing to continue to assist us in our future endeavours and are very grateful for your ongoing kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity.

We will keep you informed about our future plans and programs.
